Spending some downtime

As a kid I was always outdoors. If I wasn’t 10 feet high in a tree with a comic book there was a problem and I wasn’t content with life. Drinking from the hose, running till I had no energy left but refusing to come home…and annoyed at the setting sun and being forced indoors by the inevitable darkness.

At age 34 nothing has changed really…except my passion has shifted from baseball cards and comic books in trees to photography. However, all the time I lose to Facebook and online news magazines could be better spent. Outdoors. I’m still my happiest without a roof over my head. And the fact that so many of my clients love the outdoors and are thrilled with an engagement session under the sun…this has become my new tree to climb.

And while climbing trees is pretty much out of the question for fear of breaking my neck…a new hike, an old hike, a new view, a different day with someone I truly care about will make me happy.

But it seems that every sunset, as amazing as each one is, is still my kryptonite.

No roofs in sight…at our happiest…
