One really important question I ask all my couples: About your engagement session, where do you spend your time together? If you had an afternoon free, where would you be?
For Lauren and Matt, the answer was Santa Monica. The place they call home.
I love nothing more than spending time with my couples in the places they call home. Whether it’s actually in your home or the streets of your neighborhood, it’s your present. It’s the now.
It’s a good bet that life will pull you away from the place you called home while you were engaged. Having images from the places and time you spent during this short time is something to cherish and hold on to.
A reminder of where you began and how much you’ve grown together over the years.
And as I prep for their wedding tomorrow, part of my pre-wedding ritual is going through engagement photos. Making a plan and reliving the afternoon we spent together on the Streets of Santa Monica.
