As COVID started to define how Brooke and Brandt were going to change their day Brooke and I continued to talk about how they were adjusting.

They moved their day from the Lodge at Torrey Pines to the home of Brandt’s parents. As we talked, Brooke would always ask if I was comfortable with their adjustments, making sure they weren’t pushing me out of my comfort zone.

It’s supposed to be the other way around. Typically, I’m the one adjusting and doing what I can to help create that comfort. However, given this weird new world of COVID, she took it upon herself to take that role as well.

I couldn’t be more thankful for her and these two families for welcoming me into this intimate day. Just 12 family members, sitting around a table, celebrating two people.

Dad’s telling stories of their children growing up. Brothers and sisters reminiscing and sharing how much they look up to one another.

Most importantly, two people bringing two families together and a celebration for what’s ahead.

B&B, thank you so much for having me be a part of your day. In the face of strong headwinds you persevered and I couldn’t be more flattered to have been a part of such an intimate and special day.

Come back tomorrow for part 2! A beautiful dinner party for 12 designed by the incomparable Flowers Annette Gomez and a pooch named Ruby kinda steals the show.
