Good to meet you

My name is Bryan

If you and I were to start a conversation about your wedding, I’d ask one question: ‘What are your priorities for your wedding day?’

Your answer to this one question provides valuable information about how we can best approach photographing your day. More importantly, it gives me insights on how I can best support you during one of the most important days of your lives.

You could then turn the question on me…

My priorities are helping others. To expound upon that, it’s about being part of an extremely important, life-changing moment. It’s about being part of something bigger than my own path. It’s about having a hand in creating a visual legacy.

These are a few reasons my cup is being filled by photographing weddings.

Hopefully, we’re similar in a lot of ways. You find fulfillment by helping others with your talents, and being a part of something larger than just yourself.

If this sounds like you, let’s talk about your priorities and how I can support the vision you have for your wedding.

Seeing the deeper meaning in each moment

My approach is unique and an extension of you and your chemistry with one another.

I believe those moments in life that create our favorite images happen when we least expect them. If we live in the present, those moments come to us naturally, creating our most cherished photographs.

By working with couples who are intentionally planning their wedding day, we’re able to create honest images connected to lasting memories.

A bit more about my journey

Stumbling into photography

One purchase I look back on, that unknowingly changed my life, was the purchased of a used 35mm Minolta X-700 in 1996.

I used that camera for years, taking photography classes in college, photographing friends, and stuffing it in my backpack as I traveled through Europe.

That camera was my trusty sidekick until I set it aside as I worked my way though college. As much as I loved having a camera in my hand, back then I hadn’t connected the dots between making a living and following my artistic interests.

Capturing a wedding for the first time

In 2008 I was asked by a friend if I would photograph his wedding. With very little resources they asked if I would be happy with unlimited food and beer in return.

I may have been the ‘guy with a camera’ but I had never asked anyone to pay me for photography, and I certainly had zero experience photographing weddings.

But, I was ecstatic to see a friend be married, practice my photography in a new environment, and eat a nice meal with friends. So, I said yes.

Little did I know at the end of that day in April 2008, I would leave with an itch for more.

After a decade in surf & skate

Having spent nearly 10 years as a t-shirt development and production manager for surf and skate companies throughout Orange County and San Diego, CA, in 2009 I felt it was time for a more meaningful venture.

I wanted to be more connected to those I was helping, more connected to the process, more connected to final product I was delivering.

After a lot of reflection, and still feeling the ‘wedding itch’ from photographing my first wedding a year earlier, I took a leap of faith and left behind my full-time job to pursue this crazy idea.

Amazed by this journey

Fast forward to 2023; It’s incredible to think this crazy idea has allowed me to connect with so many wonderful couples and talented professionals.

I never expected this to last 14 years, photograph over 300 weddings, or traveling to different parts of the country and world.

And here we are; I’m incredibly grateful for every moment.
